Criteria for the
David Fry Regulatory Food Safety Professional IAFP Meeting Stipend
The Georgia Association for
Food Protection (GAFP) will be
offering a $1000 stipend award annually to a
Georgia Regulatory Food Safety Professional to attend the International
Association for Food Protection annual conference. The GAFP has recognized the
need to provide food safety professionals
from under-funded regulatory agencies a stipend to attend this excellent
training conference. Since most
state and local agencies allow only limited travel, and do not normally provide
for out of state travel, these limitations lead to missed opportunities for
Georgia Food Safety Regulatory Professionals to gain the latest food safety
training. The GAFP recognizes that these professionals need access to these
advanced training opportunities. This new stipend award will promote food safety
and protection strategies to those who serve Georgians in this important field
of public health.
The criteria are as follows:
1.
A completed application which states how the Georgia Regulatory Food
Safety Professional would benefit from being awarded the stipend.
2.
As part of this application, a paragraph stating what efforts are being
made to promote food safety and protection in Georgia.
3.
Documentation of GAFP
membership for the past two years.
4.
Attendance at GAFP meetings.
5.
Documentation of Georgia residency.
6.
Documentation of employment with a regulatory agency within the state of
Georgia.
7.
Documentation that job responsibilities include food protection and food
defense as a major function of employment.
